Hypertrophic Obstructive Cardio Myopathy

This is basically what happens when a lump of muscle forms in the heart and inhibits blood flow from the LV to the Aorta. This causes heart failure as not much blood is leaving the heart causing a high pressure gradient which causes regurgitation back into the LA. This regurgitation also impacts the pulmonary system as it causes shortness of breath. There is also a chance that this disease is an autosomal dominant genetic disease. HOCM can also result in diastole failure.
